Granny turns 90!
12:32pm 10/01/2009

It was my grandmother's 90th birthday on Thursday. I don't think she was really aware of it, though. She is in a nursing home and has been for eight and a half years. Her condition is not good but she continually amazes everyone by proving to be resilient time and time again. She no longer really says or does anything and rarely even acknowledges anyone's presence, so it is somewhat depressing to see her in her current state.

However, we went to visit her on her b'day and gave her some presents and cards. She was up and awake (which is unusual for her these days) but wasn't interested in anything. She doesn’t want to be bothered with anything at all anymore. :( :( :( We did take a few photos so we'll have memory of her 90th but it was a pity she wasn’t better.

My mum said she wasn’t so bad on Christmas Eve and actually spoke to her, as well as looking at the Christmas cards my mum took her. I hope she’ll have more good days like that.

Anyway, HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY, GRANNY!! You’re always in our thoughts.

YOUR OPINION COUNTS

I'm getting my hair cut next week and am trying to decide on the style to go for. Now, I've been extremely worried recently about the amount of hair I seem to be losing. I do have a tendency towards hypochondria so it may just be normal hair loss that seems serious to me but, nevertheless, I want a little bit of volume so it looks like there’s a decent amount on my head, lol.

I’ve been looking online and have narrowed it down to three or four and would like to know everyone’s opinion on which they think is best for me. Please? If you don’t mind? :)

Things to consider:
1. I’ve got a long (or, at least, heart-shaped) face.
2. I don’t want to keep going to the hairdressers so want a style that'll grow well and still look good.
3. I’m only interested in the hairCUT in these pics – the colour is irrelevant.

So the possible haircuts:
A)

http://www.hairstylesdesign.com/gallery/fiche.php?id=142
Would it grow well?

B)

http://www.ukhairdressers.com/style/index2.asp?R1=9781&month1=&pg=1&styl1=Hair%20Advice%20Centre
Enough volume?

C)

Hmm...

Alternatively, if anyone has any other haircut ideas/pics that'd be good for me, please let me at them (oo-er)!

Thanks, everyone!

I HATE it when I make a stupid fucking mistake!! I don't mind when other people do it but when it's me who does something that I shouldn't have done and didn't need to do if I'd checked into it and thought properly about it first, it pisses me off and gets me upset so much more than it should but AAAAGGHHH!!!!!! I hate doing something that could have been prevented!!!! Fuck, fuck and, oh, FUCK!!!

It's a tiny thing really but grrrrrrr. I look such an unprofessional fool now. :(

Heigh-ho, life's shit. Business as usual.

*sigh* I miss Phillip. I think it's particularly because he went to Canada and, even though I wouldn't have been seeing him anyway, he's been so far away and not even there on the 'phone or internet/e-mail and, I dunno, it just seems like there's been more distance between us because there's been more distance between us, if you get what I mean, lol. I'm aware I'm making no sense...so business as usual here, then! :P

On the subject of business (oo-er), actually, last week was an interesting sort of week for me from a few angles. In terms of work, I was one of the few people I knew who was working...and it was all go but with a number of complications with every job and possible job. Good that things are so busy for me, on the whole, but it would have been good if situations and predicaments had been a bit more straight forward. Well, hopefully there are conclusions on their way. :D

Right, the rest of this entry is to be ignored because I'm just about to test out the italic/bold features on here to see if I know how to get them. "Yo heave ho!"

Sometimes things are shit but, of late, I can't help but feel my life is starting to go more in the direction it should be. Two mains things constitute this: 1. Phillip and I are spending a bit more time together this year 2. I'm more committed to actively getting work and to my 'career'.

You're supposed to spend more time with your partner, the further into your relationship you go, right? but it's hard to stick to that convention in a long-distance relationship but we've been increasing the frequency with which we see each other and the length of time we see each other for ever since we started dating but it's only this year that this increase is so apparent. We'll have spent about 25 days together this year before the end of May and that is so much better than it used to be. As time goes on, it feels more and more right to be away with Phillip rather than being at home.

The last few weeks have seen me almost have a full-time job just attempting to procure jobs, something that is exciting but can, of course, be unrewarding in the long-run. Looking at the jobs on offer, it does make me think I ought to offer a bit of a writing service alongside my main services as there is more writing wanted than I would have really expected. A lot of it is dodgy but I'm willing to consider less dodgy projects. Obviously, my decision on each job will be dependent on that particular job.

After persuasion from my incredible boyfriend, Phillip, I have decided I will start a blog for bits and pieces here and there, in the hopes of conveying messages, making people laugh, talking about my obsessions and loves and quoting incessantly. Oo-er will also be a frequent feature of my journal, of course.

I haven't got many people added as friends on here so I probably ought to add some more but if anyone wants to comment on anything I drone on about, that would be most welcome.

"Keep it real." (I never thought I'd find myself saying something like that!)
